Contraindications for participating in an Ayahuasca ceremony

A number of medical and psychiatric conditions may be a contraindication to participation or participation can only be made under certain conditions. Such circumstances must always be reported. It will be decided in consultation with our advising doctor whether participation is possible.

Physically: Severe kidney diseases, unstable diabetes mellitus, epilepsy, severe neurological disorders, high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, for example angina pectoris, brain haemorrhages and strokes, an actual or expected pheochromocytoma (a tumor of the adrenal glands), blood dyscrasia (abnormal blood cells).

Spiritually: Severe unstable mental disorders such as schizophrenia, psychosis and borderline.

Drug use: Ayahuasca contains an MAO inhibitor and can therefore not be combined with certain medicines. Examples include antidepressants, beta-blockers and blood pressure lowering drugs.

Pregnancy And Breastfeeding: Do not use Ayahuasca if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. In all these cases we strongly advise against the use of Ayahuasca.
